Have you ever thought of taking a helicopter tour of Rio de Janeiro? If not, you should! I got to know the Marvelous City from this new angle and I can attest that it was one of the most incredible experiences I have had in years of traveling the world. That Rio is beautiful, we all know, but that it was possible to make it even more beautiful, few of us could imagine.
Helicopter flight is an experience completely different from anything you have ever experienced!
One of the most popular tourist destinations worldwide is Rio de Janeiro. In addition to having well-known landmarks like Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf, and Maracana, the city is noted for its breathtaking natural beauty, which includes lovely beaches and a lot of flora. It is truly fantastic to get the chance to visit this lovely city. However, even if you’ve been to the city before and have even done tours of its top tourist destinations, you still need to get to know it from the air. Many people wonder if it’s truly worth it, but we can guarantee you that taking a helicopter ride over the city is well worth your time and money. You will have an exceptional and memorable experience.
If you are one of the more cautious or even anxious people, work on overcoming this fear. In life, we must face our fears to have experience. If you experience frequent seasickness, the first thing to consider is the possibility of taking some medicine. This will make you feel more comfortable. Another important point is security. It is fundamental to choose a company that respects all safety standards. For this reason, we have chosen the best service, an experienced and respected company in the market. Their pilots are highly qualified, their aircraft are regularly maintained and your safety is always a top priority. Please note that you will receive important information to ensure your safety on board, during the flight, and when disembarking.
The tour lasts 30 minutes and covers the basics that every tourist in Rio should know. This is the tour I took and I highly recommend it if you can’t afford the longer tours because it shows the classic Wonder City without being an homage to others. In this tour, the helicopter leaves Jacarepagua Airport and travels over several sights towards Barra Beach and from there to the southern zone of the city. We flew over Rocinha, Pedra da Gávea, Joatinga Beach, São Conrado Beach, Niemeyer Avenue, Vidigal and Dois Irmãos Monteto, Leblon Beach, Ipanema Beach, Arpoador Beach and Pedra do Arpoador, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, Copacabana Fort and Beach, Leme Beach, Sugar and the Urca neighborhood after the highlight of the tour, a 360-degree circle around Christ the Redeemer. Seeing Christ from above was one of the most exciting moments of my travels in my life. The helicopter slowly rises and hovers directly in front of the image, high on Corcovado Mountain. It’s really incredible.
The eyes got wet and chills ran down the neck, it’s impossible not to feel it. Seeing the most iconic symbol of Brazil from this perspective is amazing. During the helicopter ride around Corcovado, it is still possible to see Christ from behind and the Sugar Loaf behind. A classic image worthy of a postcard. Then we enter the Tijuca forest, with an incredible image, a dense jungle in the middle of a metropolis. The beaches of the western zone can still be seen in the background.
